I had thought, wrongly it seems, that after the election, the vitriol would fade away, and life would settle back into a more live and let live attitude. What was I thinking?
Social Media has, if anything, not only fanned the fires, but poured more fuel on the fire. I am horrorstruck buy the childishness of adults, who’s first reaction to an opinion they disagree with, is to stoop to name calling.
I have, of late been following a series of Face Books posts on the subject of the Obama’s claim that his 8 years have been scandal free. First let me state that I understand it is an opinion, however it is an opinion that when diligently researched, proves to be an opinion that cannot stand in the face of facts. The list of failures is too long, too public, too well documented, to be refuted completely, or even in part.
But in pointing out the facts to those that disagree, one suffers the most vile and indignant form of childishness and intolerance imaginable; Racist pig, being one of the less objectionable terms hurled at me, and the Right. And it matters not, that I and others are polite, calm, and stick to the specific issues addressed.
When asked to detail just one scandal they believe false, the question is ignored in total, to be replaced with more vitriol hurled, with more vigor than before. There is no tolerance in challenging the opinion with facts, just more name calling, more slurs, more hate, more everything spewed at us, all in the name of tolerance.
Maybe I don’t actually know the meaning of tolerance, well at least not the liberal definition, which has, at best an Orwellian connotation.
So feel free to call me a racist. God knows my heart, and who I am, I have no fear of His Judgement on the false charge. For those that know me, you know better, for those that don’t know me, but would believe it sight unseen, they are not welcome in my life, as they are weak minded, too eager to believe disgusting gossip, only because it fits their agenda and belief system.
I live in the word of facts. What can and cannot be proved. Opinion is great, but it must be based on what is, and not what is wished for.
Facts, not emotionalism. Life is not fair, is not equal, and history has proved time and again, that attempts to make life fair and equal, in the long run, make it worse for all.
I have voted since 1972, when I turned 18. I was in the first group of 18 year old voters, and though I was registered Dem, I have never voted Dem for POTUS. Later, while in the Air Force, I re registered GOP. I found myself at odds with everything the DNC stands for. What I find odd, no, unbelievable, is the charge that I disagree with Obama, because of color/race. Why was my disagreement with all other Democrats in the Oval Office not based on color or race? Why is my fundamental beliefs, suddenly now based only on race, when the only thing that changed was color, not policy? And while I am on the subject, how is it a racist America voted for Obama twice. Hillary is not Black, so why was her defeat racist, while Obama makes the claim that had he run, he could have won?
I have asked those questions before, and will again. I expect as in the past, to called a racist for even asking. There seems to be no quarter in the mantra of the left for honest discussion and tolerance, and sadly, I don’t see a change coming.
Hate is a burden too soul killing to carry, it leaves no room for love for family, let along your fellow man. The Right, or at least me personally, doesn’t hate the person we disagree with; I do hope to be treated with tolerance and understanding, though I don’t demand it.
Tolerance is respectful of others. Wouldn’t it be nice to be respected instead of being called a “Racist Pig?”
