So Kelly, a diabetic in jail awaiting trial should not be given a meal to go by their dietary guidelines? Or do you only hold this bias towards Muslims?

The above posts were in response in support of an ACLU suit demanding Halah meals in jail. There were more such posts as these two. But more of the same is just beating a dead horse.
The first one scares me, because the person seems to believe Diabetes is a religious choice. So, is my doctor, my minister, or is my minister, my doctor?
The second example seems to agree with the first poster, but is taking a less in your face approach to the issue.
Others followed suit, which could be from seeing post one, and jumping on it without thinking it through, or they too could believe as the original poster, that diabetes is a religious choice. Either way, such posts are scary, and in my humble opinion, an indication they are far, far too stupid to be trusted in a voting booth.
So this started me thinking...
While the issue of who votes seem to center on citizens, v non-citizens, by way of voter ID, I think the real issue is the intelligence of the person voting.
Robert Heinlein proposed a Poll Tax of sorts by way of a test. Solve a quadrilateral equation, and you are allowed to vote. Sounds good, but, well, what does solving such a math problem have to do with knowing the political issues facing the nation?
Yet, Mr. Heinlein was on the right track. Deposit one Troy ounce of .999 fine gold to enter the voting booth. There the voter is confronted with test which deals with American History and current politics. Pass with a score of 95%, and the voting machine unlocks and your gold deposit is returned. Fail, and you deposit goes into the general fund, lights and klaxons sound, informing all present you are too stupid to vote.
For example;
- Who is the current Vice President?
- Who is the currently running for the Office of Vice President for the Republicans? Who is running for the Democrats?
- Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?
- What was the “Shot heard ‘round the world?”
- Why were the British marching on Lexington and Concord?
- Who was Simon Legree?
- What role if any, did he play in history?
- What was the Union and Confederacy?
- Who fought in WWI?
- Who fought in WWII?
- What was the Holocaust?
- Who started WWII in the Pacific? In Europe?
- Which President took office without being elected?
- Which office(s) if any, are Constitutionally required to take an oath of office?
- If question 14 requires an oath, name the office, and the Article and Section of the Constitution where the oath is located.
- What are the 3 branches of Government?
- When was the Constitution ratified?
- What if anything, did the Constitution replace?
- Did the first draft of the Delectation of Independence attempt outlaw slavery?
- The United State is a Democracy, T/F
- Which of the following is NOT protected by the 1st Amendment?
- Hindu Dietary requirements
- Kosher Dietary requirements
- Diabetic Dietary requirements
- Catholic Dietary requirements
- None of the above
The test can be multiple choice to make it faster to take. But the question are required to be such, that the test taker actually knows enough history to at least pretend to understand what voting is about.
One last thought; Marking question 20 as true, is an automatic fail.
