It is not about having a few days or even a week off of work.
It is not about Santa.
It is not about reindeer.
It is not about snow on Christmas morning.
It is not about how the “magic” of Christmas helps you find, love, family, riches or the perfect job.
Christmas is not about the biggest tree, the most lights, finding the perfect gift for the perfect person in your life.
It is not about how, at Christmas, all things are possible.
Christmas is about God’s perfect gift to us.
Christmas is about His love for us.
Christmas is about His plan to save us from our sins.
Christmas is about the promise of not just the resurrection of Christ. It is also about our souls being with Him for eternity, if we just accept Him, and His sacrifice for us.
From the Book of Luke:
That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!
I pray that this Christmas and every day that follows, we each of us remember the birth of Christ, and all the blessings He bestowed upon us and those blessings yet to come.
